Swiss born, Hollenstein was part of a generation of young graphic designers and type designers who spread the Swiss style in Paris in the 1960’s, along with Adrian Frutiger, Peter Knapp & Widemer.
His studio, which included a photo lab, letterpress printing, design services and photocomposition, hired up to 100 people and provided graphic services in advertising. Hollenstein died in an untimely accident in 1974 and the studio continued for 1978 until it became ère nouvelle.
Beautiful typeface design by Andre Chante exclusively for Hollenstein studio, the texts reads “Hollenstein vous aime bien”, Hollenstein likes you which was the studio’s moto.
